    Yemi Alade, Tems, Joeboy, Buju, and plenty of other artists are rejoicing after receiving their first Grammy at the 2022 Grammy Awards.

    The were held yesterday, November 23, 2021, and a number of Nigerian musicians received multiple nominations, with heavyweights like Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Kuti leading the list.

    , a Nigerian singer, received two Grammy nominations, one in the “Best Global Album” category for Angelique Kidjo’sMother Nature” and another in the “Best Latin Rock Album” category for Bomba Estero’s “Deja.”

    Nigerian singer also got two in the “Best Global Album” category, with ’sMade in Lagos Deluxe” and the “Best Global Performance” category, with ’s ‘Essence’.



    Joeboy, the frontman for Empawa Africa, was also nominated for “Best Dance and Electronic Album” with Major Lazer’s “ is the Weapon Reloaded.”

    Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s Grandson, Made Kuti, also got a nod in the “Best Global Music Album” category, courtesy of a double album with his father, Kuti, titled ‘Legacy +‘.

    Singing sensations Buju, Terri, and Tay Iwar also got a nod each in the “Best Global Music Album” category, with ’s ‘Made in Lagos deluxe
