After their split, they started solo careers as Mr P (Peter) and Rudeboy (Paul); however, neither reached the same success levels as P-Square on their own.

As a duo, they dominated the Nigerian music scene for years and were one of the first groups to export Afrobeats to other parts of the continent.

The two were known for their energetic break-dancing routines that helped them sell-out live performances. They also collaborated with performers, including Tanzania’s Diamond Platinumz and American superstar Akon.

In 2011, the duo signed to Akon’s Konvict Muzik label in 2011 and then a year later clinched a distribution deal with Universal Music Group.

They were named MTV Africa’s Artist of the Decade in 2015; they won the Best Group title three times.

They headlined their first show in Nigeria since their reunion, at the Livespot X Festival on December 26, 2021.

The duo performed to a packed crowd of screaming and passionate fans who sang along to every nostalgic hit the twins threw at them — the emotion in the hall was cranked up when P Square paused during their set, went down on both knees and with tears in their eyes apologising to their fans for the split.
