Nigerian singer, Davido recently criticised Gboyega Oyetola, the current governor of Osun State, for failing to congratulate his uncle on his success.

The performer inquired as to when Oyetola would congratulate his successor on his successful victory.

In July, Mp3bullet.ng announced that Senator of the Peoples Democratic Party has been proclaimed the victor of the Osun governorship race by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The Returning Officer for the election and Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, made the announcement at INEC’ collation centre in Osogbo, the state capital.

Ogundipe announced that Adeleke scored 403,371 votes to defeat the incumbent governor, Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress, polled 375,027 votes.

Adeleke clinched 17 of the 30 Local Government Areas of the state, while the APC won the remaining 13.

Following Adeleke’ victory, Governor Adegboyega, is yet to accept defeat, has been dragged by Davido.

On the 6th of August, Davido hopped on Twitter to ask Governor Oyetola he is yet to congratulate his uncle. According to him, Oyetola is being unreasonable because his uncle congratulated in 2018 after he lost the election.

Davido opined that his uncle was the bigger person even after Oyetola stole the position from him.

He wrote;

“Your excellency sir @GboyegaOyetola when will you congratulate the Incoming governor of your state @AAdeleke_01 … in 2018 my uncle congratulated you even though it was stolen … do the right thing baba .. one love ❤️”

Taking to his Instagram page also, the singer posted picture of the Governor and captioned: “Defeat is painful … sir it is over sorry.”

The singer’ expression follows Oyetola’ Friday’ request to the Election Petition Tribunal in Osogbo for the nullification of the election that saw Adeleke come out victorious.

According to the governor, the election was fraught with certain irregularities.
