Users of Spotify can construct a capsule of the songs they are currently listening to using the in Bottle function. Only year afterwards may users reopen their playlist.

Users of Spotify’s free and premium versions can access the function. from mobile device to create your own capsule. Choose container of your choosing to hold your music, such as bottle, a jean pocket, a gumball machine, a lunch box, or a teddy bear. You’ll be given a series of questions to answer, including “a you need to hear live this year” and “ music that makes you think of your favorite person.”

These songs will be sealed away until 2024, when you can pop the cork from your bottle and remind yourself of this precise moment in time.

“This is such fun feature that allows our listeners to pause and preserve this moment in time, and look back at it again in a year to see where they were, what they were listening to and hear the soundtrack to their musical memories,” says Jocelyne Muhutu-Remy, Spotify’s Managing Director for Sub-Saharan Africa.

The in a Bottle feature is only available until 31 January 2023 so be sure to make your selections before then.
