Manchester City gets surprise loan offer for Erling Haaland
Manchester City receives a surprise loan offer for Erling Haaland.
One of the few City players who will be allowed to rest up during this winter’s competition is Haaland, whose country of Norway was unable to advance to the finals in Qatar.
However, there is an offer on the table for Haaland to carry on playing competitively should he and City agree to it.
Seventh-tier English football non-league team Ashton United has stated that they have contacted City about the possibility of a 28-day loan for Haaland.

Ashton United manager Michael Clegg said: “It just makes sense to try and sign Erling on loan at Ashton United. City aren’t playing and we want to keep Erling fit. It makes more sense than playing golf.”
Due to increasing traffic, after the bid became public, Ashton United’s website crashed.
Non-league football will continue through November and December, with top-level football returning only after the World Cup, though many games are likely to have their kickoff times changed to avoid conflicting with England fixtures.
Since joining Man City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, Haaland has scored 23 goals in 18 games in all competitions.
On December 20, two days after the World Cup final, they will return to domestic play when they take on Liverpool in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
