Some of the top musicians in Nigerian music history have produced outstanding eras.

Asake is the industry’s newest golden boy who is pulling the crowd and breaking records on charts. While he had been an unknown artist in the Industry releasing songs like “Lady” and “Mr Money“, his big break came in 2022 with “Omo Ope” remix featuring his label boss, Olamide.

From there, Asake’s career took off with him continuing his great run by releasing singles like “Sungba“, “Pallazzo”, “PBUY”, “Bandana”, “Terminator”, and his debut album, “Mr Money with the Vibes” which had all its songs top Apple Music Nigeria chart.

Naira Marley’s 2019 era will forever remain iconic. He first made a name in 2017 with the hit song, “Issa Goal” which featured Olamide and Lil Kesh and earned a Coca-Cola remix for the World Cup.

However, 2019 will forever be known as the year he had the Industry in chokehold starting with the release of “Am I a Yahoo Boy” which was followed by EFCC arresting him, Zlatan and others.

The arrest aided in contributing to his arrest and immediately after being bailed he dropped “Soapy” which despite the backlash it received over its vulgar lyrics and dance, was a hit solidifying Naira Marley’s status as the new king of the street.

He soon followed it up with other hits songs like Bad influence, Mafo, Tesumole, Opotoyi (Marlians), Isheyen and others.

2019 also the rise of Naira Marley’s fanbase called the Marlian Movement and even with critics slamming the group attracted quite a number of people from different demographics.

    Davido (2017/2018)

There is never a time Davido was dominating the industry but 2017/2018 was a special period for him. Prior to this period, OBO had given us hits like “Dami Duro”, “Aye”, “Gobe”, “Skelewu” and others but he changed the game in 2017.

In 2017, Davido drooped hit songs like “If”, “Fall”, “Pere”, “Fia”, “Like Dat”. “Fall” most especially was his biggest hit with its music video becoming the first Nigerian music video ever to amass a staggering 100 million views on Youtube.

It also became the first music video in Nigeria to hit 200 Million views on Youtube.

Not relenting on his success, Davido the following year dropped songs like “Flora My Flawa”, “Assurance”, “Nwa Baby”, “Wonder Woman“.
