Recall that Mp3bullet.com reported that Beyonce announced the upcoming video on her Instagram page. Beyonce, who’s know for absent or short Instagram captions, shared her excitement with a lengthy caption.

Here’s why we think the Black is King album will be worth watching

1) Yemi Alade features in it! If that isn’t a good enough reason for us to watch then we don’t know what is. Big ups to Mama Africa for constantly representing!

2) We get a total Wakanda, “Africa is not a country“, vibe in the video.

3) Unlike Brown Skin Girl whose video had a confusing message, different from the song. This video clearly depicts that “Black is King“.

4) It actually tells the black story. We didn’t even need to hear Beyonce‘s soothing voice telling us that, “A journey, is a gift,” for us to know that this is a story of how the blacks moved from slavery to owning their own thing.

5) Just like Beyonce said in her statement, this visual album couldn’t have come at a better time. While the world is still feeling the effects of the #blacklivesmatter protest and police brutality, Black is King seems to be saying that Africans are one, and together.

6) The scenery. The African costumes. I think they got it right this time.

7) Yemi Alade, Beyonce, Lupita Nyong’o, Naomi Campbell, Kelly Rowland, all in the trailer? Yes, please. Girl power!
