Duncan Mighty: The answer to hit singles, in 2018!

Come to think of it, it’s been whole ten years since Nigeria first experienced the then “new sensation,” Duncan Mighty. With hit songs like “Sanko Love,” “Jesus Bu Uze,” “Dance For Me” and “Ako Na Uche,” he held it in ’08, and then dropped his debut album “Fully Loaded.”

The breach from the status quo, was what elevated Duncan so fast. He’s from Port Harcourt, and trying to make hits, he didn’t join the bandwagon of people doing what was termed “Tungba,” back then. His was always meaningful, and that didn’t disrupt the Ikwerre melody.

Duncan Mighty The answer to hit singles, in 2018!

In 2011, dropped his now classic “Legacy (Ahamefuna)” album, with the ‘viral’ hits, “Obianuju” and “Port Harcourt Son.” And, since then, he’s achieved quite impressive level of success, in the industry. Such that makes him Legend. A legend is not you find jumping on all songs, making hits, all that. But again, Duncan Mighty broke the legendary rule!

In 2018, out of every five songs that becomes hit, two features Duncan. I mean, I just told someone ; “Lil Kesh just dropped song. He featured…,” and the person cuts in “Duncan Mighty, abi?” Not that he’s even come across it, but that was just the rule. It’s that simple. Want a hit in 2018? Feature Duncan Mighty.

Wizkid is known to have kick started the movement, with the Starboy song (every Wizkid song is now Starboy thing), “Fake Love,” which features Duncan Mighty, and of course, Wizkid. It was produced by Killertunes, and with that we’re very sure Wizkid initiated the collabo. That was Duncan Mighty’s shot, and he kicked it hard.

Ceeza Milli (of Starboy) followed with “Sabi,” and then Reekado Banks with “Bio Bio.” That’s the new wave, so trust DJ Xclusive, he came through with “Gimme Love.” had to do “Low Waist,” and Bracket though this might work for them, too, so we got “Chinelo.” Tiwa Savage is not to lose such an opportunity, she hopped in, and… “Lova Lova!” Ice K dished “Emmedately,” B-Red, as sharp boy did “Uju.” Davido then dropped his highly-anticipated “Aza,” andeven put Peruzzi, on it. Wetin we no gor see? Lil Kesh too wan chop the Mighty wave, and just this week he dropped “Flenjo.” Take look at all the songs listed above, and imagine just one man was featured on all of ’em. Won’t you say a wow!?

Remember what happened in 2016, when everybody was rushing Mr Eazi. Likewise, last year, when everybody wanted piece of Slimcase. The only thing different is, these two guys were next-rated, Duncan is not. They usually say “igba lonigba nlo,” that is “you can’t be hot forever,” but what happens when you get second chance? You become Duncan Mighty!

Duncan Mighty like us, we no dey too follow artistes, na them dey rush us…
