No fewer than 21, 650 admission seekers between Friday and Saturday sat for the this year’s University of Ibadan Post UTME examination, source has gathered.
The two-day exercise, our correspondent gathered witnessed heavy vehicular and human activities within and around the university environment.
The examination that was conducted in all departments and faculties in the institution took place amid tight security.
Our correspondent who monitored the two day exercise also observed that parents and guardians who came along with their wards were seen at various locations where the examination took place.
On Friday and Saturday, business owners, food vendors, snacks sellers and cab operators were also seen making brick businesses during the two day event.
During a visit to some faculties; Agriculture, Nursing, Education, Science, Arts and Social Sciences both Friday and Saturday saw both uniform and non-uniform security agents restricting human and vehicular movements in strategic areas within the school premises.
The exercise which many perceived to be computer-based was however found to be written.
Some of the candidates who said they had prepared for the computer-based examination were seen writing the test with their pens and pencils.
The exercise was however an avenue for cab operators who ply the popular Ojoo-UI-Sango-Mokola road to inflate their prices as many students, parents and other commuters were seen trecking long distance due to scarcity of buses.
A candidate who identified himself as Omololu informed that the examination was well conducted.
He said ,”At the beginning, I was a bit restless when I saw the number of candidates that will participate in the screening.
“Right now, I just finished writing the examination. I am very happy and optimistic of success”
Another candidate who came from Lagos for the examination said she was prepared for a computer based-test, but was surprised to see that it was written manually.
